Rev. Sam Wilson 0f FBC-Adair, OK, brought the messages over the weekend.
The 417 Collegiate Retreat was a big hit in this, it’s second year. Over 70 students from 6 different schools came out to Baptist Hill Assembly in Mt. Vernon to worship together, play together, and grow deeper in their walk with God. Among the messages they heard were several from the Book of Nehemiah taught by the main speaker, Rev. Sam Wilson. Also heard by all was an explanation of the Black Lives Matter movement by Rev. Jon C. Nelson of Soma Community Church, Jefferson City, MO. Breakout sessions gave students the opportunity to learn about Biblical perspectives on gender identity, sex and singleness, uncompromising truth and having deeper Bible studies.
When they weren’t worshiping or listening to great teaching, students took canoes down nearby Williams Creek, napped in hammocks, played Color Wars and otherwise passed the time in fun and relaxing ways. (It was, after all, a “retreat!”)
