“O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens.
Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” Psalm 8:1-4 (ESV)
If you haven’t read Psalm 8 recently, now is a great time to do so. This is a Psalm of Spring. It reminds us to look at the beauty around us, God’s glory revealed in creation and marvel at how amazing it all is. From the vastness of the universe to the intricacy of the human body, God has done great things. When the Psalmist looked at the night sky he saw thousands of stars, we know now that there are billions of galaxies out there! When the Psalmist considered his place in creation he was humbled by the authority God has given us over the world, but we know now how infinitely complex that world is! Take time today to consider the natural beauty of the world around you, and recall how much the Maker of that world cares and loves those who belong to Him.
O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
