Spring Break 2015: Phoenix pt. 1

Welcome to Phoenix, Arizona! This year’s Spring Break trip has it’s beginnings in the form of a visit from former Joplin pastor Monty Patton to the BSU. After hearing from Monty about the opportunities NAMB is creating to serve through church plants in the Phoenix area, the leadership team chose that as a destination. As it turned out, a good number of BSU students chose not to come in order to save money for a mission trip they are taking to Tanzania in May, so this year’s team is a bit smaller than other recent Spring Break groups, but for a great reason. Still, six chose to come, the six God wanted to be here at Mercy Hill Church this week to help serve.

Thank you, Hoffmantown Church!

Thank you, Hoffmantown Church!

Our first day was a long drive to Albuquerque where we stayed overnight in the youth room at Hoffmantown Church, which was hospitable and generous. Our second day brought us to Mercy Hill in downtown Phoenix. We pulled in around dinner time, met the pastors, ate, did some grocery shopping, went over the week’s schedule and crashed.
