Ordinary People

“When they observed the boldness of Peter and John and realized they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed and knew that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13

Before and even during their time with Jesus, the 12 men we call Apostles were ordinary people. They didn’t always understand what Jesus was teaching, they argued about who was greater among themselves and they showed a lack of faith and commitment that at times seems shocking. They weren’t educated, famous or powerful in anyway, but God used them to turn the world upside down. The Bible tells us over and over that He loves using ordinary people to do extraordinary things. So, how ordinary are you?

READ: 1 Corinthians 1:26-29

THINK: If you could change one thing about the world we live in, what would it be? Have you “been with Jesus” lately? (Gone to church or Bible study or spent time reading the Bible and praying.) Would anyone know you follow Him without being told?

PRAY: Take a minute today, 60 seconds, to talk to God about changing the world.

ACT: Take time every day this week to send a quick encouraging note. Text, Facebook, Snapchat or snail mail doesn’t matter, just go out of your way to make them smile unexpectedly.
