“Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it…” Song of Solomon 8:7a
IT’S Valentine’s Day and love is in the air! Actually, that might just be your roommate’s cologne… Anyway, the truth of this verse is timeless and important. What God is saying here is that the love of husband and wife for one another is fully capable of withstanding the full force of the world’s wrath. There will be a thousand attempts made to distract a man and wife from their passion for one another, floods and downpours will certainly try to quench the fire of romance, but in spite of them all, true love will endure. In a society where the divorce rate hovers near 50% for Christians and non-Christians alike, here is the hope that carries us forward. Love each other like Jesus loves his bride, the church, and you’ll be just fine. Something to keep in mind when you get ready to say, “I do.”
deep man thats deep.
I love you and we have had to swim through some deep waters, but we did not and will not drown. Our love will NOT be quenched.
