I love Welcome Week. It’s a beautiful chaos. New faces become old friends in a matter of days. People from all over the world (international students!) and your own back yard (#Thatawkwardmoment when you meet someone from church you didn’t know existed) suddenly enter your life at Mach-1. SO many choices to make, SO many new relationships, SO much cool stuff to do! There’s just an energy, an excitement, there that you don’t find at any other time of the year. It’s awesome. And one of the best parts of it all (in my opinion) is seeing God at work through all of it. Watching Him start to connect people to local churches and campus ministries and Bible studies… Meeting new people and knowing that God has brought you together for a reason… It’s amazing.
This week is all about connections. Its about plugging in. And make no mistake, in the middle of all the chaotic goings on, God is there. So, take the time this week to listen to Him, to connect spiritually and not just socially: go to a worship service on campus (perhaps Tuesday at 7pm at the BSU!), make room in your schedule for a Bible study, or maybe visit a church. Enjoy Welcome Week, plug in spiritually.
